A Stream on “Animation Film”
as part of the 10th Annual International Conference on Visual and Performing Arts
10-13 June 2019, Athens, Greece
Sponsored by the Athens Journal of Humanities & Arts
The Arts & Culture Unit of ATINER is organizing a Stream on “Animation Film”, 10-13 June 2019, Athens, Greece as part of the 10th Annual International Conference on Visual and Performing Arts sponsored by the Athens Journal of Humanities & Arts.
Defining animation is a long-running story, which this panel is not expecting to end, but rather to nurture. Actually the nature of the medium – in its intricate variety of expressions – calls for consistent and regular questioning. So mostly welcome, so as to foster the open-ended debate, are issues related to aesthetics, content, story-telling and theory, …, as much as hands-in papers. Focus may well be on one film, one author / director / artist / animator, one corpus, one theme, …, as long as it is considering animation as a filmic expression of its own, which somehow mirrors, blends with, relates to other art forms (live action film, theatre, literature, dancing, performance, drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, architecture, …)
You may participate as presenter of one paper, chair or/and organizer of a session, or observer.
Fee structure information is available on www.atiner.gr/2019fees.
Special arrangements will be made with a local hotel for a limited number of rooms at a special conference rate. Details of the social program are available here.
