During the 28th Annual International Conference on Education, Dr. Nick Linardopoulos1, Head, Education Unit, Athens Institute & Associate Teaching Professor & Public Speaking Course Coordinator, Rutgers University, USA (left) and Gregory T. Papanikos, President of the Athens Institute and Professor (Adjunct) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, USA (right), held a meeting to discuss in detail the preparation and further development of the annual international conferences of the Education Unit, as well as the development of the Athens Journal of Education.
1Nick Linardopoulos is an associate teaching professor in the Department of Communication, Nick Linardopoulos has developed and taught multiple courses focusing on public communication, including crisis communication, political communication, and public speaking. Linardopoulos also teaches the large lecture introductory communication course (COM 101) every semester. As a certified instructional designer from the Online Learning Consortium, a Canvas Certified Educator, and a Master Reviewer from Quality Matters, Linardopoulos has led the efforts for expanding the course delivery options within the department and SC&I to include hyflex, hybrid, and online. Linardopoulos teaching has been recognized through the Department’s Distinguished Achievement in Teaching Award (2018, 2024) as well as the Excellence Award for Best Practices in Hybrid Course Delivery from Rutgers University (2012). In addition to teaching, Linardopoulos oversees the management of all Public Speaking course sections at SC&I (including assessment, scheduling, professional development, and mentoring). His research interests focus on the areas of instructional technology and online learning, with a specific focus on the development and implementation of communication technologies in education and business settings.
