Dr. John V. Pavlik & Dr. Gregory T. Papanikos Meeting on Communication and Mass Media Conference and Journal Development

On Friday, 15 May, Dr. John Pavlik1, Head, Mass Media and Communication Unit, Athens Institute & Professor, Rutgers University, USA (right) and Gregory T. Papanikos, President of the Athens Institute and Professor (Adjunct) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, USA (left), held a meeting to review the successful conclusion of the 24th Annual International Conference on Communication and Mass Media: www.atiner.gr/2026med-pro.

During the meeting, they also discussed in detail the preparation and further development of the 25th Annual International Conference on Communication and Mass Media, which will take place in Athens, 10-15 May 2027 (www.atiner.gr/media), as well as the development of the Athens Journal of Mass Media and Communications.

The discussion focused on strengthening the academic quality and international reach of the conference series, enhancing thematic coherence, and further promoting interdisciplinary dialogue in the fields of communication and media studies.

1John V. Pavlik is Distinguished Professor of Journalism and Media Studies at the School of Communication and Information at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, USA. He joined the Rutgers faculty in 2002 as a professor. He was promoted to his current rank in 2025. Pavlik holds a PhD in Mass Communication from the University of Minnesota (1983).
