The Mass Media & Communication Unit of the Athens Institute organizes its 23rd Annual International Conference on Communication and Mass Media, 12-15 May 2025, Athens, Greece sponsored by the Athens Journal of Mass Media and Communications.
The aim of the conference is to bring together academics and researchers of Communications, Mass Media and other related disciplines. You may participate as presenter of one paper, chair of a session or observer. Past conferences drew participants from five continents and more than 100 countries, presenting papers on diverse topics such as political communication, EU enlargement, Website design, cross-media ownership, war correspondence, cultural studies, film, public relations, telecommunication policy, advertising, agenda setting, juvenile audience preferences, and cross-national communication, among others. Consistent with the theme of the Athens Institute’s small academic events, all programs may include a few sessions on current topics in education and research. Please note that all our conferences are non-thematic as explained in our policy (click here). However, academic members and friends can take the lead to organize and chair a stream as part of this conference.
Please submit an abstract (email only) to: atiner@atiner.gr, using the abstract submission form by 21 January 2025 to: Dr. John Pavlik, Head, Mass Media and Communication Unit, Athens Institute & Professor, Rutgers University, USA & Dr. Adam Pitluk, Deputy Head, Mass Media and Communication Unit, Athens Institute & Assistant Professor, Coastal Carolina University, USA. Abstracts should include the following: Title of Paper, Full Name (s), Affiliation, Current Position, an email address, and at least 3 keywords that best describe the subject of your submission. Decisions are reached within 4 weeks.
If you want to participate without presenting a paper, i.e. organize a special session, chair a session, or any other contribution, please send an email to Dr. Gregory T. Papanikos, President, Athens Institute (president@atiner.gr).
