Media Communication & New Challenges in the Entertainment World

A Stream on “Media Communication & New Challenges in the Entertainment World”
as part of the 18th Annual International Conference on Communication and Mass Media
11-14 May 2020, Athens, Greece
Sponsored by the Athens Journal of Mass Media and Communications

The Mass Media & Communication Unit of ATINER is organizing a Stream on “Media Communication & New Challenges in the Entertainment World”, 11-14 May 2020, Athens, Greece as part of the 18th Annual International Conference on Communication and Mass Media sponsored by the Athens Journal of Mass Media and Communications.

The aim of this stream is to bring together media researchers from all over the world, giving them the chance to present their work on the entertainment industry and share their findings from researching their local societies on the matter. This session invites all media researchers to discuss how local media environments function in the new global reality. Our approach is interdisciplinary, proposing to cover all the fields related to media and entertainment industry: from radio to social media and so on. All forms of media, such as Radio, TV, Cinema, Music, Internet, Social Media, Mobile Media etc., may be the object of your presentation. Academics and researchers from all over the world are welcome to expose their ideas and findings concerning the local societies they belong to, with regard to the reality of the mass media and entertainment industry. More aspects to investigate are the existing or possible relations between different communities /countries in the area of entertainment, on all the aforementioned fields.

The rapid progress of technology is responsible for many changes in the world, and is also affecting the mass media and the entertainment industry. A new world is being formed, to which we are all called to adapt as persons and as societies. So, let’s see how do the local media and the local entertainment industries adapt to this new reality and what challenges they are facing. What are the new media trends worldwide and in each society separately? How does the advertisement industry function worldwide and locally? What are the products each local entertainment industry is interested in and what are its expenses?

You may participate as presenter of one paper, chair or/and organizer of a session, or observer.
