Modern times a priory are turbulent, and have been the object of disappointment, but appeals and aspiration of strategic communication. Since strategic communication is an interdisciplinary field, this panel aims for an understanding of the new functions and paradigms of business & political communication and media in times of uncertainty. We invite submissions to reflect a wide range of theoretical perspectives and research methodologies, and empirical researches on the theme both in the global and local context. Questions addressed the topic are among others:

  • Has the field of communication and media studies reflected turbulence as an a priori paradigm?
  • Which scientific problems do we see in communication disciplines and strategic communication in turbulent times today?
  • What does data driven “end of the theory” (Anderson 2008) mean for strategic communication?
  • What’s economy 4.0 impact on communication and media?
  • What are global and local differences on strategic communication in turbulent times?
