A Microsymposium on “Artificial Intelligence and Law”
as part of the 22nd Annual International Conference on Law
14-17 July 2025, Athens, Greece

The Law Unit of the Athens Institute is organizing a Microsymposium on “Artificial Intelligence and Law” as part of the 22nd Annual International Conference on Law, 14-17 July 2025, Athens Greece sponsored by the Athens Journal of Law.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the legal landscape, offering immense potential and complex challenges. AI-powered tools can analyze vast amounts of legal data, predict case outcomes, automate routine tasks, and even generate legal documents. This can streamline legal processes, improve efficiency, and enhance access to justice. This session discusses the development of technological models of legal knowledge, reasoning, and decision-making. It also includes in-depth studies of innovative artificial intelligence systems used in the legal domain. It also focuses on AI in law raising ethical concerns and addressing the legal, and social implications. Ensuring transparency, accountability, and fairness in AI-driven legal systems is crucial to prevent unintended consequences and maintain public trust. It welcomes interdisciplinary approaches including artificial intelligence and jurisprudence, logic, machine learning, cognitive psychology, linguistics, or philosophy.
Keywords: Artificial intelligence; Law; technological models; concerns; interdisciplinary approaches.
