as part of the 24th Annual International Conference on Education
16-19 May 2022, Athens, Greece
Sponsored by the Athens Journal of Education

The Education Unit of ATINER will hold a Small Symposium on “Educational Theatre”, 16-19 May 2022, Athens, Greece as part of the 24th Annual International Conference on Education, 16-19 May 2022, Athens, Greece sponsored by the Athens Journal of Education.

Educational theatre refers to various educational and pedagogical uses of drama, theatre and performance. There are many forms of drama and theatre from different schools of thought, including drama in education (DIE), theatre in education (TIE), and applied theatre. The 2022 ATINER Education Conference, to be held in Athens and remotely (either online or prerecorded) May 16-19, invites abstract proposals for a stream on Educational Theatre that seeks to identify new directions in the field. Examples of new directions are applied theatre projects, audience response theory, quantum theatre and drama, and new media presentations. You may participate as presenter of one paper, or observer.

The fee structure information for this conference is available at www.atiner.gr/fees.

Special arrangements will be made with a local hotel for a limited number of rooms at a special conference rate. In addition, a number of special events will be organized, including a pragmatic symposium (as organized in Ancient Athens but fine-tuned to synchronous ethics), a special one-day educational island tour, a Mycenae and island of Poros visit, an Athens educational walking tour, a day trip to Delphi, and an ancient Corinth and Cape Sounion visit. Details of the social program are available here.
