The Computer Research Unit of the Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER) organizes A Panel on “Current Issues in Software Requirements Engineering”, 15-18 May 2017, Athens, Greece as part of the 13th Annual International Conference on Information Technology & Computer Science sponsored by the Athens Journal of Τechnology & Engineering & Athens Journal of Sciences.
Requirements Engineering (RE) include all processes and activities carried out to identify, elicit, analyze, specify and validate the requirements of software products. The term requirements refer to the description of the functions, behaviors, features, constraints, and quality attributes that should be implemented in a software product. RE is an important aspect of software development and critical to the overall success of a software such that there is a correlation between bad requirements and software failures. The aim of this panel is to discuss and analyze current issues software requirements engineering. Participants will also have the opportunity to present and discuss software development and requirements engineering work in progress, and get feedback from experts. Students, practitioners, and academics who are currently involved software development and requirements engineering practices are strongly encouraged to participate. Those who want to learn more about requirements engineering are also encouraged to attend and participate. Preference will be given to academics and practitioners in their early career

- Innovative practices, techniques, and methods in RE
- RE education in universities and colleges
- Stakeholder Management and Analysis
- Challenges, gaps, limitations in RE practices
- Requirements Modeling
- Ethical, Trust, issues and privacy in RE
- Solutions to requirements problems
- Requirements and project management
Special arrangements will be made with a local hotel for a limited number of rooms at a special conference rate. In addition, a number of social events will be organized: A Greek night of entertainment with dinner, a special one-day cruise to selected Greek islands, an archaeological tour of Athens and a one-day visit to Delphi. The Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER)was established in 1995 as an independent world association of Academics and Researchers. Its mission is to act as a forum where Academics and Researchers from all over the world can meet in Athens, in order to exchange ideas on their research, and to discuss future developments in their disciplines.
The organizing and hosting of International Conferences and Symposiums, the carrying out of Research, and the production of Publications are the basic activities of ATINER. Since 1995, ATINER has organized more than 400 International Conferences and other events, and has published close to 200 books. In 2012, the Association launched a series of conference paper publications (click here), and at the beginning of 2014, it introduced its own series of Journals (click here).
Academically, the Association is organized into seven Research Divisions and thirty-nine Research Units. Each Research Unit organizes at least an Annual International Conference, and may also undertake various small and large research projects.
