An International Symposium on “History of Architecture”
as part of the 10th Annual International Conference on Architecture
6-9 July 2020, Athens, Greece
sponsored by the Athens Journal of Architecture
The Architecture Unit of ATINER is organizing an International Symposium on “History of Architecture” as part of the 10th Annual International Conference on Architecture, 6-9 July 2020, Athens, Greece sponsored by the Athens Journal of Architecture.
The scope of the symposium embraces not only socio-cultural, political, philosophical, and pedagogical, frameworks for interpreting and articulating architectural history but also critical enquiry into the historical language of architectural form as it has developed together with any implications for understanding the built environment from antiquity to the end of the 19th century. Papers on historical technologies and their role in advancing the development of architecture are also invited. The symposium encourages relevant, cross-disciplinary, research and welcomes papers on Western, Eastern and other (un)built architecture forms.
You may participate as presenter of one paper, or observer.
Fee structure information is available on www.atiner.gr/fees.
Special arrangements will be made with a local hotel for a limited number of rooms at a special conference rate. In addition, a number of special events will be organized, including a pragmatic symposium (as organized in Ancient Athens but fine-tuned to synchronous ethics), a special one-day educational island tour, a Mycenae and island of Poros visit, an Athens educational walking tour, a day trip to Delphi, and an ancient Corinth and Cape Sounion visit. Details of the social program are available here.
