Responsibility and Reporting”

as part of the 17th Annual International Conference on Accounting
8-11 July 2019, Athens, Greece
Sponsored by the Athens Journal of Business & Economics

The Accounting Unit of ATINER will hold a Stream on “Corporate Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Responsibility and Reporting” as part of the 17th Annual International Conference on Accounting, 8-11 July 2019, Athens, Greece sponsored by the Athens Journal of Business & Economics.

As the 21st century progresses, societal awareness of the environmental, social and governance (ESG) related responsibility of businesses is reaching an all-time high. All stakeholders including businesses, their shareholders, employees, consumers, suppliers, activists, relevant institutions and regulation have a role in assuring good governance and responsible management of corporate and natural resources. Accounting and related regulation plays a key role in this process as it not only influences how businesses address their ESG responsibility but also how and what they report. This in turn influences stakeholders including consumers’, employees, and investors’ decision making and resource allocation. The aim of this stream is to bring together research from diverse accounting and allied perspectives, with a common thread of addressing issues related to ESG responsibility and reporting (including integrated reporting) of businesses and its relation with different stakeholder decision outcomes.

You may participate as presenter of one paper, chair or/and organizer of a session, or observer.
