Launches Two Educational Podcast Series Bringing Academic Ideas to the Public
Dr Atlihan Onat Karacali, Research Fellow at the Athens Institute and Lecturer in Interior Design at the University of Central Lancashire (UK), has developed two educational podcast series that bring academic ideas to a wider public audience.
The first series, Hodja on Architecture, concluded after 100 episodes and explores architecture, interior design, design thinking, vernacular architecture, cities, spatial culture, and design education. The project aims to make architectural research and design thinking more accessible beyond academia, presenting complex ideas in an engaging and approachable format.
His second series, Hodja on Everything, has recently been launched, with Episode 10 of its first season now available. While architecture remains one of its recurring themes, the podcast takes a broader popular science approach, exploring space, geography, history, languages, maps, mythology, food cultures, science, and the development of human civilisation. Inspired by the curiosity-driven spirit of the pre-internet era, the series encourages listeners to rediscover the joy of learning across disciplines.
Both podcasts are available through major streaming platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify and YouTube.
