We are pleased to announce that the article “Valuation of the Environmental Services of an Urban Forest – A Case Study of ‘Vetal Tekdi’, Pune” by Priti Mastakar, Professor, Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, India, published in Volume 13, Issue 1 (March 2026) of the Athens Journal of Sciences, has received significant media attention in two of India’s leading newspapers, The Times of India and The Indian Express.
The article was featured in coverage related to World Environment Day, highlighting the importance of valuing environmental services provided by urban forests and their contribution to sustainable urban development.
This research was originally presented by Professor Mastakar at the 20th Annual International Symposium on Environment, held on 14–15 July 2025 in Athens, Greece, organized by the Athens Institute.
