Meeting between Dr. Gregory T. Papanikos and Mr. Georgios Papathanassopoulos (F.I.J.E.T.) on Tourism Collaboration
Today, 3 February 2026, the President of the Athens Institute, Dr. Gregory T. Papanikos, held a meeting with Mr. George Papathanasopoulos, Representative in Greece of the International Federation of Tourism Journalists (F.I.J.E.T.).
The meeting focused on exploring the prospects for establishing a collaboration between the Tourism, Leisure & Recreation Unit of the Athens Institute and F.I.J.E.T.. Both parties discussed potential areas of cooperation aimed at promoting academic dialogue, research, and initiatives related to tourism, tourism journalism, and international tourism development.
This meeting marks an important step toward strengthening ties between academic institutions and international professional organizations in the field of tourism.
