Dr. Ingrid Brenner (Associate Professor Trent University Canada)
has accepted the offer from the Athens Institute to serve as the next Deputy Director of the Health & Medical Sciences Division
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Ingrid Brenner (Associate Professor Trent University Canada) has accepted the offer from the Athens Institute to serve as the next Deputy Director of the Health & Medical Sciences Division.
As Deputy Director, Dr. Brenner will collaborate with the Division Director, Dr. George Zahariadis, Associate Professor, Faculty of Medicine, Memorial University of Newfoundlan (Canada); the Division Deputy Director, Dr. Adel Zeglam, Consultant Neurodevelopment Pediatrician & Professor of Pediatric and Child Health, Tripoli University Hospital & Faculty of Medicine Tripoli University (Libya), in organizing all conferences and small symposia hosted by the division.
Additionally, she will serve as Associate Editor of the Athens Journal of Health and Medical Sciences & the Athens Journal of Sports.
Ingrid Brenner is an Associate Professor and Chair in the Department of Kinesiology at Trent University in Ontario, Canada, where she also teaches in the School of Nursing. With over 20 years at Trent, she has taught in Biology, Kinesiology, and Nursing. She holds two Ph.D.s—one in Nursing from Queen’s University, focusing on exercise in patients with peripheral vascular disease, and another in Exercise Science from the University of Toronto, examining exercise and immune function. Her research centers on the benefits of exercise for individuals with chronic conditions. Prior to Trent, she held a postdoctoral fellowship with the Department of National Defence and a teaching appointment at Queen’s University.
