The President of the Athens Institute Met in Athens on 23 May 2024 with Dr. Shiping Zhu, X.Q. Deng Presidential Chair Professor, The Chinese University of Hong Kong in Shenzhen, China
The President of the Athens Institute, Gregory T. Papanikos, met today (23 May 2024) in Athens with Dr. Shiping Zhu, X.Q. Deng Presidential Chair Professor & Vice President (External and Student Affairs), The Chinese University of Hong Kong in Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen). CUHK is a World Top 50 University and 10th in Asia.
Also participating in the meeting were Ms. Rosemary Bai (Marketing Coordinator & Supervisor of International Undergraduate Admissions, Office of Academic Links at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in Shenzhen) and Ms. Olga Gkounta (Researcher, The Athens Institute).
The President explained the mission of the Athens Institute and its history and achievements since its establishment in 1995.
Dr. Zhu presented the Chinese University of Hong Kong in Shenzhen and their goal to attract good students from Greece for both their undergraduate and graduate programs.
Dr. Papanikos also presented the educational system of Greece and outlined a plan to communicate to high school students the opportunities offered by the Chinese University of Hong Kong in Shenzhen for Greek students, given that all the programs are offered only in English.
This was the first meeting, and the aim was to explore opportunities for collaboration between the Athens Institute and the Chinese University of Hong Kong in Shenzhen.
