For many, U.S. universities are confronting the most significant challenge in their longstanding history of global preeminence in both education and research. The ramifications, however, will be international in scope, as numerous international students and researchers stand to be directly impacted by the restriction of opportunities to pursue postgraduate studies at world-class institutions and to engage in collaboration with leading academic scholars.
Furthermore, there is a direct threat to freedom of expression in a country that has historically played a pioneering role in fostering a university environment that promotes the free exchange of ideas—an essential condition for the advancement of knowledge.
As part of its 30th anniversary celebrations, the Athens Institute is proud to launch a series of high-level critical dialogues focused on today’s most pressing global challenges.
