23rd Annual International Conference on Law Successfully Held in Athens
The Law Unit of the Athens Institute successfully organized the 23rd Annual International Conference on Law, held on Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 July 2026 in Athens, Greece.
Over the two days of the conference, 48 papers were presented by academics and researchers from 16 countries: Canada, Germany, Israel, Italy, Oman, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Switzerland, Thailand, The Netherlands, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The conference commenced on Monday morning with the Opening Speech and Welcoming Remarks by Gregory T. Papanikos, President of the Athens Institute and Professor (Adjunct), University of Tennessee, Knoxville, USA, and Dr. Jorge Emilio Núñez, Head of the Law Unit, Athens Institute, and Reader at Manchester Metropolitan University, UK.
As part of the conference sessions, two microsymposia (special sessions) were organized, focusing on Environmental Law and Criminal Law, alongside the other sessions of the conference. These special sessions brought together specialists to discuss recent developments and contemporary challenges in these important areas.
The 24th Annual International Conference on Law has already been announced and will take place in Athens, Greece, on 12–13 July 2027.
